The Lincoln Fire and Rescue Department Operates 14 Front Line Engine Companies, and has at this point and time three Reserve Units. Every Station in the City operates at least one Engine Company.

Engine 1

Station 1--1801 Q Street

In the terms of amount of calls a year, Engine 1 is the busiest in the City. They respond to the Main Campus of the University Nebraska at Lincoln, plus most of the Downtown Lincoln Area, along with residential areas on all sides of the Station. Engine 21

The Lincoln Fire and Rescue Department has two rigs with the designation as Engine 21. One is a 1989 Ford Smeal that is quartered at Station 1 right now and the other is in service at one of the other stations at this time. The numbering system for the reserve units is as follows, a reserve unit will start with the number 2 and then have the number of the station that they are normally assigned to.

This is the only time that I have seen this one.

This Engine 21 sits behind Battalion 1 at Station 1. It is a 1989 Ford-Smeal with a 1250 GPM pump and 500 Gallons of Water on board.

Engine 225

Engine 225 is one of the spare's that the city keeps in case of mechanical issues with some of the other rigs. Engine 225 is a 1990 Spartan-Central with a 1250 GPM pump. It is assigned to the Shops and the shops are concidered Station 25. It was service as Engine 10 until they recieved their new E-One.
